Gideons International is an evangelical Christian association founded in 1899 in Wisconsin. The Gideons’ primary activity is distributing copies of the Bible free of charge. This Bible distribution is a global enterprise taking place in some 200 countries, territories and possessions. The association’s members focus on distributing complete Bibles, New Testaments, or portions thereof. These copies are printed in over 100 languages. The association is most widely known for its Bibles placed in lodging rooms. The Gideons also distribute to hospitals and other medical offices, schools and colleges as well as jails and prisons. The association takes its name from the Biblical figure Gideon depicted in Judges 6.
國際基甸會（英语：Gideons International）是一個福音派基督教組織，1899年在美國威斯康星州成立。基甸會的主要活動是免費分發《聖經》紙本。這是個分發《聖經》的全球性組織，在大約在200個國家/地區實施，這些聖經以100多種語言印發。基甸會的成員專注於分發整本的《聖經》丶《新約聖經》或是部分內容的《聖經》。基甸會以放置在旅館房間的《聖經》而聞名，基甸會還分發《聖經》給醫院和其他醫療機構、學校和大學以及看守所和監獄。該組織的名字，來自於《士師記》第6章所描述的聖經人物基甸。

Lutheran Campus Ministry for Young Adults and College Students
（Messiah Lutheran Church）Our church is located just five minutes away from the base of UCSC, and we offer an active ministry to and with UCSC students, as well as other young adults in the congregation:
– Rides to worship services at Messiah Lutheran – We will swing by your bus stop on UCSC Campus and give you a ride to our 10:00 am worship service.
– Meals and social gatherings in the homes of our church members. Progressive dinners, backyard s’more nights and more! Join us for good food and good company.
– Prayer partners in the congregation – We will be happy to connect you with an adult or family in the congregation who will pray for you, support you, and connect with you in meaningful ways.
– Bible Conversations – be it through Facebook based Bible studies, meeting in small groups or individual conversations, we want to support you as you grow in your relationship with Jesus.
– Opportunities to serve our local community – Young adults and students are such a part of touching people’s lives with the love of Jesus through participating in beach clean-ups, volunteering, baking pies, food, and serving the homeless, and a lot more!
– Serving UCSC Campus community at large – Having been placed by God so close to Campus, we want to be a blessing to as many students on Campus as we can. You will see us passing out free coffee and cookies in the mornings, distributing care packages to students, as well as hosting a free Finals Study Hall at our church (complete with snacks, wifi, and school supplies)!
